Arthur Storey Park

Arthur Storey Park, located at 7400 W. Sam Houston Pkwy. South, Houston, is a dual-use park featuring two lakes, a playground, a yin-yang Tai Chi court, a gazebo overlooking the water, and more than 3 miles of paved trails. The Arthur Storey Park Storm-water Detention Basin can hold approximately 1.15 billion gallons of storm-water, reducing the risk of flood damage for thousands of residents and businesses along Brays Bayou. Amenities include: 23 benches, a drinking fountain, two gazebos, a Kid Fit park, 17 picnic tables, and four playgrounds.

Bear Creek Pioneers Park

Bear Creek Pioneers Park is 2,154.6 acres in size, and offers over 2 miles of trails. Amenities include an 18 baseball/softball fields, benches, six exercise stations, a picnic area, 14 playgrounds, seven reservable pavilions, Scout camping, 26 soccer fields, three tennis courts, horseshoe courts, two fire pits, an aviary and wildlife habitat, an equestrian trail, 16 restrooms, and two pickleball courts. The park is also home to the Harris County War Memorial, which was built in 1985 to honor known Harris County residents who lost their lives in World War I and subsequent wars. Scout reservations are available at this park.

George Bush Park

George Bush Park encompasses a whopping 7,800 acres inside the Barker Reservoir. The park hosts a large group of soccer fields, softball/baseball fields, beautiful dog parks for large and small dogs, an equestrian trail, a model airplane field, and 11.36 miles of hike and bike trails ranging over Buffalo Bayou. Additionally, there are three reservable pavilions adjacent to a delightful playground. Scout reservations are available at this park.

John Paul Landing Park

John Paul Landing Park, an 876-acre park, features a serene 176-acre lake that serves as a major flood detention facility for the area, and accommodates terrestrial and aquatic wildlife. Other amenities include: an educational center, a cricket field, exercise stations, licensed fishing, pickleball, a picnic area, a playground, and four reservable pavilions.

Kleb Woods Nature Preserve

Kleb Woods Nature Preserve provides a unique window into the rich environmental and cultural history of northwest Harris County. The 133.5-acre preserve includes the former homestead of Elmer Kleb. The Nature Center and farmhouses are open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The preserve's amenities include: a wetlands area, a picnic area, Scout camping, nearly 4-miles of nature trails, and a pavilion. Scout camping reservations are available at this park. 

NOTE: While we understand your desire to experience nature with your dog at your side, we must respectfully ask that you refrain from doing so at Kleb Woods Nature Preserve. Recent studies have shown that dogs, even those on leashes, drive other wildlife from the area. Our mission is to keep wildlife thriving at Kleb Woods, so park patrons of all ages can enjoy and learn more about the wonders of nature.

Mary Jo Peckham Park

Mary Jo Peckham Park is a 32-acre green space featuring basketball courts, an aquatic and fitness center, a putting green, a miniature golf course, a playground, a reservable pavilion, a gazebo, a fishing lake, exercise stations, and a six-hole disc golf course. 
The park was named after the late Mary Jo Hill Peckham: "Widely known for her willingness to help those in need, she was dedicated to acting as a friend at all times to anyone in need of care, guidance, or assistance." Harris County Commissioners Court recognized Mary Jo Peckham’s contributions to her community when it proclaimed June 18, 1991, as “Mary Jo Peckham Day.”

Terry Hershey Park

Terry Hershey Park spans 496 acres, with over 11 miles of trail. The park runs parallel to a roughly 6-mile stretch of Buffalo Bayou, and was named for a champion of the bayou, Terry Hershey, a conservationist who campaigned in the mid-1960s to keep the banks of Buffalo Bayou from being paved. Park amenities include: exercise stations, picnic area, playground, pavilion, and trail access.

Zube Park

Zube Park is known for notable amenities such as a disc golf course; splash pad; and operational steam and diesel model trains. Other amenities to enjoy include exercise stations, picnic areas, a playground, and two reservable pavilions. The 225-acre park is named for the Zube family and includes 117 acres of land purchased from the state of Texas in 1867 by Carl "Charles" Friedrich Zube, who immigrated from the Kingdom of Prussia in the mid-1850s.

The splash pad at Zube Park is currently closed for the season.
