PARK ALERT George Bush Park Boardwalk improvements underway!
Harris County Precinct 4 Teams are hard at work to restore this family favorite. After restorations this boardwalk connecting over 12 miles of trails will once again safely serve park visitors for another 30 years.
Please expect closures on the east side of the park on trails inside George Bush Park hike & bike trail at equestrian trail parking lot and on the west side of the boardwalk at the T-103 bridge for approximately 2.1 miles long.
This closure is expected for a period of 12 or more weeks barring any unforeseen weather disruptions during improvements.

  • George Bush Park encompasses a whopping 7,800 acres inside the Barker Reservoir. The park hosts a large group of soccer fields, softball/baseball fields, beautiful dog parks for large and small dogs, an equestrian trail, a model airplane field, and 11.36 miles of hike and bike trails ranging over Buffalo Bayou. Additionally, there are three reservable pavilions adjacent to a delightful playground. Scout reservations are available at this park.
