Commissioner Lesley Briones cares deeply about assisting residents facing food insecurity. Precinct 4 has several partnerships with local nonprofits dedicated to getting fresh food in the hands of residents who need it most.

Common Market

Common Market offers farm-fresh produce to residents of Harris County to address food insecurity.

Pre-registration is required.

La Tiendita Gulfton

La Tiendita offers food assistance, nutrition education, social services, counseling, and resource navigation to families
and neighbors throughout the Gulfton/Sharpstown region.

Registration by appointment only on Monday-Friday | 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Second Servings

The Second Servings program distributes rescued food from restaurants, hotels, and grocers to support families in need.

Available first Friday of the month | Noon - 2 p.m.

Community Food Drive

With the delay of federal SNAP benefits, Commissioner Lesley Briones is teaming up with the Houston Food Bank to launch a Precinct-wide Food Donation Drive across all Precinct 4 Community and Nature Centers.
