PARK ALERT Two bridges are currently CLOSED for upgrades!
These bridges are temporarily closed during these safety upgrades and improvements. We’re working quickly to minimize disruptions, and we appreciate your patience during these improvements to your park. The first repair, on the wooden bridge on the southeast side of the park, begins Wednesday, September 16 and is expected to take about two weeks, barring unforeseen delays. The second bridge, located on the northwest side of the park between I‑10 and Memorial Drive, will receive a safety upgrade starting Wednesday, October 7. This repair is expected to take about three weeks.
Terry Hershey Park spans 496 acres, with over 11 miles of trail. The park runs parallel to a roughly 6-mile stretch of Buffalo Bayou, and was named for a champion of the bayou, Terry Hershey, a conservationist who campaigned in the mid-1960s to keep the banks of Buffalo Bayou from being paved. Park amenities include: exercise stations, picnic area, playground, pavilion, and trail access.
