Direct Disaster Relief After Beryl and the Derecho

  • Responded to more than 3,300 service calls related to Hurricane Beryl.

Precinct 4’s ongoing maintenance and new construction efforts strengthen neighborhood drainage systems, reduce flood risk, and support long‑term community resilience.

  • 6.9 million linear feet of open roadside ditches routinely maintained in Precinct 4
  • 54 miles of new drainage ditches constructed since taking office

  • Requires emergency generators in nursing homes and assisted‑living facilities.
  • Ensures vulnerable residents have access to safe temperatures, medical equipment, and essential services during power outages.

Cooling, Warming, and Supply Sites After Beryl & the Derecho

  • Opened 6 community cooling centers
  • Distributed food, water, and ice to residents
  • Served more than 25,000 families during recovery efforts

  • Hosted 4 hurricane preparedness workshops in 2026
  • Conducted high‑water vehicle demonstrations at more than 40 locations
  • Distributed 340,000 hurricane preparedness booklets to residents
  • This program delivers life‑saving relief during dangerous heat waves, ensuring at‑risk residents have access to safe indoor temperatures and essential cooling support.

    • Provided 150 portable AC units to residents in need
    • Prioritized seniors, veterans, low‑income households, and people with disabilities
