Precinct 4 Internship Program

The Precinct 4 Internship Program is a nine-week paid summer internship offering hands-on experience serving Harris County residents. Interns contribute to projects across Precinct 4 Divisions and build career skills through mentorship and professional development.

Who it’s for
High School, undergraduate, and graduate students from all schools and backgrounds are encouraged to apply, including Precinct 4 residents.

P4 All Abilities

The P4 All Abilities initiative expands meaningful employment opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Through a partnership with Summerhouse Houston, participants receive career preparation and job coaching to support their success in temporary, part-time roles with Precinct 4.

Adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities seeking employment opportunities and support in the workplace.

Employ 2 Empower

Employ 2 Empower is a Harris County workforce program that helps people experiencing homelessness build a path toward stable employment. Participants gain paid on-the-job training while contributing to community projects, skilled workforce development and graffiti removal.

Individuals experiencing homelessness who are seeking employment opportunities and support toward greater stability.

Apprenticeship Advantage

The Apprenticeship Advantage Program is a Harris County workforce initiative offering two career pathways: paid apprenticeships in traditional trades through the Texas Gulf Coast Area Labor Federation (TGCALF) and technology training through NPower. The traditional trades pathway includes a three-week pre-apprenticeship course and earn-as-you-learn training lasting three to five years. NPower offers a 15-week Tech Fundamentals course with a certification test at the end.

Who it’s for
Harris County residents who are eligible to work in the United States. Additional requirements may vary by training pathway.
