Commissioner Lesley Briones launched in 2025 as a public safety and infrastructure initiative focusing on updating crosswalks near schools throughout the precinct. In December 2025 and January 2026, maintenance crews repainted more than 20 school-area locations across Alief, Cypress-Fairbanks, Katy, Tomball, and Waller ISDs, with crews aiming to complete improvements while students were out of school for winter break.Commissioner Lesley Briones launches Crosswalks 4 Precinct 4 to improve public safety around schools.
While students are on winter break, Precinct 4 crews will repaint key crosswalks, curbs, and stop sign road markings at more than 20 school zone locations in Alief, Cy-Fair, Katy, Tomball, and Waller ISDs.
Public safety is Commissioner Briones’ top priority. As a mother of 3 children, and a former teacher, she understands all children deserve a safe path to walk to school. This program is part of Commissioner Briones’ commitment to proactively maintain infrastructure across Precinct 4.
