  • A portion of Burnett Bayland Park is currently closed for construction and will remain closed until Fall 2026. This closure began in April as part of a major transformation project. While this area is closed, the rest of the Park remains open to the public. The playground has been relocated to the northern portion of the park, outside of the construction zone, and will soon be fully open for families to enjoy. The community garden has also been repositioned and remains accessible. Additionally, the existing baseball field is being transitioned into a new soccer field to provide expanded recreational options. Burnett Bayland Community Center and the basketball pavilion remain open and available for public use. Precinct 4 has also constructed a new walking trail that loops through the open areas of the park. Although some of the park is entirely closed, these improvements ensure that the community can continue to enjoy the rest of the park while this transformation is underway.

Burnett Bayland Park is one of the best urban parks in Houston. It is located in southwest Houston and has gained popularity for its huge, modern skatepark. The park is also known for its many soccer fields, which include a pair of hard-surfaced pitches that were recently donated by the Houston Dynamo and Houston Dash.
