Committed to increasing community access to health services, Commissioner Lesley Briones is partnering with County and local non-profits to bring critical services to the Gulfton and Sharpston communities. Bayland Park, home to Bayland Community Center and Fonteno Senior Education Center, now offers a variety of health and wellness services.

This clinic provides preventative health care and family planning services to Sharpstown’s underserved youth ages 13 to 24.

Food Distribution

Twice a month on Thursdays through Dec. 26, from 4 - 6 p.m.

In partnership with Common Market, Precinct 4 is distributing local, farm-fresh produce to Harris County residents to address food insecurity. Registration is required one week before distribution dates.

Diabetes Prevention

Oct. 10, Nov. 14, and Dec. 12, from Noon - 1:30 p.m.

Participants learn about reversing pre-diabetes, weight loss, food preparation, physical activity, heart health, and stress management. Registration is required. Open to those who qualify and attend the entire year-long program.

Precinct 4 partners with Harris County Public Health (HCPH) to provide initial screenings, cleanings, and basic treatments for all ages through HCPH’s Mobile Dental Unit. Walk-ins are welcome.

Harris County Precinct 4, in partnership with Harris Health, offers a private space for residents to access virtual health visits, medical resources, and screening equipment like blood pressure machines and scales.

Harris County Public Health's ACCESS program connects eligible community members experiencing hardships, including health challenges (physical and/or mental), financial and housing needs, substance abuse, and social inequity, by providing them with a case manager for assistance in enrolling in Harris County safety-net programming.
