Commissioner Lesley Briones Honors 22 “My Favorite Teacher” Contest Winners During Teacher Appreciation Week

This Teacher Appreciation Week, Commissioner Lesley Briones launched the “My Favorite Teacher” student writing contest for grades K–12, inviting students to share how educators have made a lasting impact on their lives.

Since 1984, the National Education Association has designated the first full week of May as Teacher Appreciation Week, recognizing educators nationwide for their dedication and service.

Precinct 4 received submissions from 27 public, charter, and private schools, demonstrating strong community engagement across the Precinct. The 22 selected winners received a $100 gift from Precinct4Forward:
