Commissioner Lesley Briones has deployed Precinct 4’s cooling buses and Social Work team to assist residents at Falls of Point West apartment complex, where residents have been without power for six days.

The cooling buses are there today until 6:30 p.m. and again tomorrow from 8 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. Additionally, the social work team is providing residents with a resource guide that includes food assistance, basic-need items, and housing support.

“I am appalled to learn about the situation at the Falls of Point West Apartments in 

Sharpstown. My heart goes out to the families who have endured six days of brutal heat without electricity. No landlord in Harris County should be allowed to treat families this way. A Precinct 4 cooling bus is on site, and my team is mobilizing additional resources. I have reached out to County Attorney Abbie Kamin, who has directed her team to identify all available actions to help these families. I am grateful for her aggressive stance to protect tenants living in unsafe conditions. The residents of Sharpstown deserve safe and cool homes, and we will do everything we can to support them," said Commissioner Briones.
