Taking care of our mental and emotional well-being is essential — especially as we approach the busy holiday season. For many, this time of year can bring added stress, loneliness, or even symptoms of seasonal depression, making it more important than ever to slow down, seek support, and care for ourselves with intention.

Commissioner Lesley Briones and Precinct 4 are dedicated to ensuring residents have access to the support they need from our team of compassionate social workers and our on-site resources to the valuable organizations listed below.

The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD

  • Available every day | 24/7

  • The Harris Center offers an emotional support text line as well as a 24-hour crisis line for those struggling with their mental health.

Baylor Teen Health Clinic

  • Monday – Friday | 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

  • The Teen Health Clinic offers a variety of services, including mental health counseling. It is free for patients aged 13 to 24 and does not require insurance.

Houston Area Women’s Center (HAWC)

  • Available every day | 24/7

  • HAWC offers free, confidential counseling, emergency shelter, and crisis support for domestic violence and sexual assault survivors in the Greater Houston Area.

An-Nisa

  • Available every day | 24/7

  • The An-Nisa Helpline offers confidential, judgment-free assistance and connects those facing domestic violence or emotional distress to services.

Crisis Intervention of Houston, Inc.

  • Available every day | 24/7

  • The Crisis Intervention of Houston offers free, confidential crisis and suicide prevention counseling teens and adults.

Hope and Healing Center & Institute (HHCI)

  • Monday – Friday | 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

  • HHCI offers free mental health services, including counseling, support groups, and psychiatry for the Greater Houston Area.

NAMI Greater Houston

  • Multiple dates and times throughout the week, depending on the chosen group

  • NAMI offers free mental health support groups and educational classes. Visit the website to find a group or class that best aligns with your needs.

re:MIND

  • Multiple dates and times throughout the week at locations across the Greater Houston Area

  • re:MIND offers free and confidential support groups for adults and youth living with, or family and friends affected by, depression and bipolar disorders. Various groups are offered both online and in person. Visit the website to find a group that best aligns with your needs.

Bo’s Place

  • Multiple dates and times throughout the week, depending on the chosen group

  • Bo’s Place offers free grief support groups for bereaved children, families, and adults in the Greater Houston and surrounding areas. Visit the website to find a group that best aligns with your needs.

Boys Town National Hotline

  • Available every day | 24/7

  • The Boys Town National Hotline offers free crisis support for teens and young adults.

Veterans Crisis Line

  • Available every day | 24/7

  • The Veterans Crisis Line offers free, confidential support. Veterans can call or text to be connected with a trained professional. VA benefit or healthcare enrollment is not required.

For additional support, you can submit an online request to make an appointment with a Precinct 4 Social Worker. Walk-in options are also available at Radack, Bayland, and Tracy Gee every Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
