Rhythms Legacy: African American Music
- Feb. 5 | 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
- Test your knowledge of Black music with an evening of trivia about the artists, songs, and history that has shaped generations.
Black History Mobile Exhibit
- Multiple dates at community centers across the Precinct
- Explore how music was shaped by Black culture and learn more about how local Black artists have been influential in much of what you hear on the radio today. Click here to find the date and location that works best for you.
Black History Celebration
- Feb. 15 | 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- Weekley and Radack Community Centers are teaming up to celebrate Black history. This event will include step teams, spoken word, and keynote speaker Kenneth Henry, the Assistant Superintendent for School Leadership - Elementary at Cy-Fair ISD. Register now.
STEM Fair in Honor of Black History Month
- Feb. 21 | 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m.
- Future Innovators: STEM Challenge Fair is a hands-on event where kids can design their own inventions inspired by groundbreaking Black innovators. Through creative stations designed by Freed staff, children will explore inventions of historical figures like Garrett Morgan and Mae Jemison to celebrate the legacy and contributions of Black inventors.
