Commissioner Briones celebrates the new Alief Health Clinic

Commissioner Lesley Briones and Harris Health marked the start of construction for the new Greater Alief Health Center with a wall-breaking ceremony on Wednesday, October 21.

Located in Precinct 4, Alief is considered medically underserved with a large uninsured or underinsured population.

The clinic will help close the gap for families by providing low-cost, high-quality healthcare services, including primary care, mental healthcare, pharmacy services and more. The Greater Alief Health Center will open in early 2028 and is funded in part by the $2.5 billion Harris Health facilities bond approved by voters in 2023.

The Alief clinic is the first of three new outpatient locations across Harris County.

Commissioner Briones is committed to increasing access to affordable and high-quality healthcare for all Harris County residents.
