Bryan Sanchez appointed to Harris County Finance Corporation

Commissioner Lesley Briones has appointed Bryan Sanchez, a seasoned executive with 20-years of experience in the real estate investment management industry, to the Harris County Finance Corporation. 

Sanchez recently completed an 18-year tenure at Lionstone Investments, a data-driven real estate investment firm that conceptualizes, analyzes, and executes national investment strategies using proprietary analytics and research.

As Chief Executive Officer of Lionstone Investments, Bryan Sanchez was responsible for executing the firm’s long-term business plan. Prior to serving as CEO, Bryan served for several years as Lionstone’s Chief Investment Officer. As CIO of Lionstone, Bryan was responsible for developing and executing the firm’s investment strategy, leading a team of professionals in acquisitions, research and analytics, and risk management functions. Prior to serving as CIO, he held increasingly senior positions at Lionstone, including roles in research, acquisitions, portfolio management and corporate development.

In 2017, Bryan played a key role in Lionstone’s successful merger with Columbia Threadneedle Investments, a global asset manager with approximately $700 billion of AUM. Columbia Threadneedle is a division of Ameriprise Financial (NYSE: AMPF), a Fortune 500 financial services firm. Lionstone remains a subsidiary of Columbia Threadneedle Investments and Ameriprise Financial.

Prior to joining Lionstone in 2005, Bryan was an associate at Verde Realty, a real estate investment firm focused on the U.S.–Mexico border and founded by William Sanders. Prior to Verde, Bryan served as chief-of-staff to the CEO of Seven Seas Petroleum Inc., a publicly-traded oil exploration company with operations in Latin America.

Bryan is an active member of ULI where he serves as a Global Trustee and a board member of ULI Americas Executive Committee. He also sits on the leadership team for the UDMUCGold Product Council. He is also an active member and board member of AFIRE, an international association of real estate investors. Bryan also serves a board member of Emerge Fellowship, a non-profit that empowers and prepares high-performing students from underserved communities to attend and graduate from selective colleges and universities across the nation.

Bryan is a graduate of Georgetown University and Harvard Business School. He lives in Houston with his wife and two children.
